Media, PA – The St. Mary’s College of Maryland Women’s Soccer Team (12-1-2) delivered a dominant performance, defeating Penn State Brandywine (1-9-1) with an 8-0 shutout in a United East Conference matchup. The Seahawks overwhelmed their opponents both offensively and defensively, extending their winning streak as they march toward postseason play.
How It Unfolded

Mia McKenzie opened the scoring early, striking twice within a minute to put St. Mary’s ahead 2-0 by the 15th minute. Both of McKenzie’s goals were unassisted, demonstrating her individual skill and poise under pressure.
The Seahawks’ offense didn’t let up, as Megan Stambaugh found the net in the 29th minute, extending the lead to 3-0. Gracie Tourangeau followed up with a goal just before halftime in the 42nd minute, assisted by Megan Rusk, giving St. Mary’s a commanding 4-0 lead at the break.
St. Mary’s was relentless in their attack, outshooting Penn State Brandywine 30-0 in the first half alone. Their offensive dominance continued in the second half, where they fired off another 21 shots without conceding a single attempt.
In the second half, Megan Rusk and Lillee Covington each added two more goals, bringing the total to eight. Rusk’s playmaking was also evident with two assists, while Ashlyn Bonner and Rylee Cessna each contributed assists as well.
