At approximately 10:54 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a home on the 46000 block of Rosewood Drive after a reported domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers found 25-year-old Alaysia Janell Milburn suffering from a gunshot wound. Milburn was quickly transported to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. The chase continued into Charles County, with deputies from the Charles and Calvert County Sheriff’s Offices and Maryland State Police joining the effort.

The pursuit came to a halt near the 15000 block of Prince Frederick Road in Hughesville, when a Calvert County Deputy was able to disable the suspect’s vehicle. According to law enforcement reports, the suspect briefly exited the vehicle before reentering and firing a single shot. Deputies then approached the car and discovered the suspect had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Officers immediately provided aid, and the suspect was transported to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:53 p.m.
