A Waldorf man walked into a local convenience store with routine intentions, purchasing his usual Powerball and scratch-off tickets, not expecting anything out of the ordinary. However, his day took an extraordinary turn when he won the top prize of $200,000 on a Ravens X10 scratch-off ticket.

The winner, a federal government retiree, told Maryland Lottery officials that he enjoys trying newer scratch-off tickets, and this was his motivation behind selecting the Ravens X10 ticket. Launched in August, the Ravens-themed ticket had eight remaining top prizes at the time of his purchase, making it an appealing choice for scratch-off enthusiasts like him.

After scratching the ticket and scanning it at the store, the man realized he had hit the $200,000 jackpot but remained composed. He then returned home to share the exciting news with his wife. Despite the life-changing win, the man expressed that he has no immediate plans for the money, content simply spending time with his family.

The lucky ticket was purchased at a 7-Eleven located at 29969 Three Notch Road in Charlotte Hall, St. Mary’s County. As a result of selling the winning ticket, the store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

In addition to the exciting top prize, non-winning $10 Ravens X10 and $2 Ravens X2 scratch-offs can be entered into the 2024 Ravens second-chance promotion. Players participating in the promotion stand a chance to win various prizes, including $10,000 cash, Ravens season tickets, or even tickets for the next 20 seasons. Another new feature of this year’s promotion allows winners to play Pass for Cash with former Ravens players or be named the Fan of the Game, with opportunities to win cash for each Ravens touchdown scored during home games.
