St. Mary’s City, Md. — Senior forward Alex Ochman of St. Mary’s College of Maryland has been named the United East Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, October 28. This honor marks Ochman’s second career selection and continues a successful streak for the Seahawks, marking the second consecutive week a player from the team has earned this accolade.
Ochman’s recognition comes after a pivotal week for St. Mary’s College, during which the Seahawks clinched a decisive 3-0 victory over Rosemont College on October 22, followed by a hard-fought 2-1 comeback win against Saint Elizabeth University on October 26. The skilled forward played an instrumental role in these victories, directly contributing to four of the Seahawks’ five goals over the two games.

Against Rosemont, Ochman delivered a standout performance, matching his career-high with three assists, marking the second time this season he has reached this milestone. He followed up with an assist on the game-winning goal in the team’s narrow victory over Saint Elizabeth, solidifying his impact on the field and his role in the Seahawks’ offensive strategy.
Ochman’s contributions have also placed him prominently on both conference and national leaderboards. With 11 assists on the season, he currently ranks second in the United East Conference and ninth among NCAA Division III players. His 0.69 assists per game place him 11th nationally, a testament to his consistent playmaking ability. Additionally, Ochman is 12th in the conference with 17 points, underscoring his role as a key offensive contributor for the Seahawks.
The St. Mary’s College men’s soccer team has had a successful season thus far, with an overall record of 9-6-2 and an undefeated 8-0-0 in conference play. As the top seed in the United East Conference, they are set to begin their postseason run in the United East Championship Tournament. The Seahawks will face off against the winner of the first-round matchup between #8 Penn State Brandywine and #9 Notre Dame of Maryland University on Saturday, November 2, at 7:30 p.m. The quarterfinal match will take place at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium, where Ochman and his teammates will aim to advance and continue their undefeated streak within the conference.
