A lucky Powerball player from Charles County has claimed a significant win in Maryland’s October 30 drawing, taking home a third-tier prize of $150,000. The winning ticket was purchased with the Power Play option, which tripled the usual $50,000 prize for the third-tier win, turning it into a remarkable payout.

The winning ticket was bought at a 7-Eleven convenience store located at 11575 Berry Road in Waldorf. The fortunate numbers in the drawing were 13, 22, 29, 43, and 58, with the Powerball number of 22 and a Power Play multiplier of x3. Maryland Lottery officials have confirmed that this marks the 52nd third-tier Powerball win in Maryland for 2024.

The October 30 drawing proved rewarding for Maryland players, with a total of 6,810 winners across the state who claimed prizes starting from $4. While no one won the jackpot, the top prize continues to grow, reaching an estimated annuity of $54 million for the upcoming November 2 drawing, which also features an estimated cash option of $25.8 million.

Winner Precautions and Claiming Guidelines

Maryland Lottery officials advise all ticket holders to check their tickets closely, especially given the Power Play addition’s impact on prize levels. They also encourage winners to immediately sign the back of their tickets and store them safely until they claim their prize. All prizes must be claimed within 182 days from the date of the drawing.

For prize claims exceeding $25,000, ticket holders must go to Maryland Lottery headquarters, located at the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, Baltimore. Claims can be made in person, by mail, or by scheduling an appointment through the Lottery’s website. Walk-in claims are not accepted, so those looking to collect their winnings in person must arrange an appointment using the website’s scheduling tool to view available times.

The Powerball win adds to Maryland’s ongoing success streak, as lottery players across the state continue to cash in on prizes of varying amounts. The state’s lottery officials, while celebrating the fortunate outcome for the Charles County player, also highlight the excitement and anticipation for the next big draw as the jackpot total climbs higher.
