LA PLATA, MD — The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Hawks women’s soccer team wrapped up their 2024 season with an impressive 10-5-1 record, culminating in a second-place finish in Region 20. The Hawks showcased their skill and tenacity throughout the season, ultimately advancing to the region championship game, where they faced Anne Arundel Community College in a competitive showdown.

Sara Allwine emerged as the team’s offensive leader, scoring 27 goals and contributing 8 assists, for a total of 62 points—the highest in the region. Her scoring prowess was instrumental in key victories throughout the season and earned her recognition in the regional tournament honors. Allwine’s ability to create scoring opportunities made her one of the most formidable offensive threats in Region 20.
Freshman Abigail May quickly made an impact, notching 15 goals and securing fourth place in the conference rankings. Her knack for finding the net in crucial moments highlighted her potential as a cornerstone for the team’s future success.
Sophomore Zoi Whitsett also contributed significantly to the Hawks’ offensive efforts, tallying 7 assists and 8 goals. Known for her playmaking skills and strategic awareness on the field, Whitsett’s contributions helped drive the team’s attacking play, providing crucial support to her teammates.
Goalkeeper Kylie Smith played a key role in the Hawks’ defensive strategy, recording a remarkable 91 saves over the course of the season.
