LEXINGTON PARK, MD — Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at approximately 5:40 a.m. on Saturday after a 36-year-old man walked into the Lexington Park Rescue Squad reporting he had been shot. The victim, who arrived on his own, was swiftly flown to a nearby hospital for treatment. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, according to law enforcement sources.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division have since identified the 21000 block of Great Mills Road as the site where the shooting reportedly took place. Law enforcement officers are actively canvassing the area for evidence and potential witnesses who might provide insight into the incident.

Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the circumstances leading up to the shooting or any potential suspects. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to piece together the events that transpired.
