ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – St. Mary’s College of Maryland swim teams posted strong performances over the weekend, with both the women’s and men’s teams securing victories in Atlantic East Conference (AEC) meets.
The women’s team (7-4, 4-0 AEC) emerged with a 2-1 record, claiming wins over Immaculata University and Cedar Crest College but falling to non-conference opponent University of Mary Washington. Meanwhile, the men’s team (6-4, 3-0 AEC) split their meets, losing to Mary Washington but securing a commanding victory against Immaculata.
Women’s Team: Dual Success in Atlantic East Meets
The Seahawks women’s team rebounded from a 178-81 loss to Mary Washington on Friday by earning a 151-84 victory over Immaculata and a 161-47 win against Cedar Crest on Saturday.

Sophomore Emerson Young led the way against Mary Washington, claiming first place in the 50-freestyle (24.43) and the 100-freestyle (53.38). Young also contributed to a winning 200-freestyle relay team alongside sophomore Kelsie Miller, first-year Addison Willey, and first-year Lauren Goulet, with a time of 1:40.83.
Miller also impressed with a victory in the 100-butterfly (59.86) and a key role in the 200-freestyle relay. Junior Venus Kai Judge added second-place finishes in the 500-freestyle (5:23.08) and the 400-individual medley (4:51.58).
On Saturday, Miller, Young, and Willey each captured two individual events, with all three also swimming on the winning 200-medley relay team (1:57.44). Highlights included Young’s first-place finishes in the 50-freestyle (25.17) and 100-backstroke (1:04.52), Willey’s victories in the 200-freestyle (2:05.92) and 100-freestyle (57.53), and Miller’s wins in the 100-butterfly (1:01.10) and 200-butterfly (2:22.84).
Men’s Team: Resilient Performance
The men’s team faced a tough 158-104 loss to Mary Washington but rebounded with a decisive 197-39 victory at Immaculata.

Senior captain Luke Schwenk shone against Mary Washington, winning the 100-backstroke (50.51) and 50-freestyle (21.39). First-year Harrison Greenwald also delivered strong results, claiming first in the 500-freestyle (4:55.92) and 400-individual medley (4:21.35).
Sophomore Daniel Madigan added a win in the 100-breaststroke (1:01.32) and contributed to a third-place finish in the 200-medley relay. Other key performances included first-year Stephen Lepine, who placed third in the 1000-freestyle (10:40.24).
Against Immaculata, Schwenk once again excelled, leading two 1-2-3 finishes in the 50-freestyle (21.65) and 100-freestyle (48.08). Greenwald added wins in the 200-freestyle (1:50.60) and 200-breaststroke (2:28.35).
Madigan contributed two victories in the 100-breaststroke (1:04.76) and 500-freestyle (5:21.42) while also swimming on the victorious 200-medley relay team. Lepine and sophomore Qwada Moses added strong finishes in their events, rounding out the team’s dominant performance.

The Seahawks will compete at the Randolph-Macon Yellow Jacket Invitational in Hampton, Va., from Nov. 22-24, facing a competitive field in preparation for the remainder of the season.
