ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – Four members of the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Women’s Soccer Academic All-District® team for the 2024 season, as announced Tuesday afternoon. This prestigious recognition highlights their outstanding achievements on the field and in the classroom.
Graduate student Flor Katz-Starr, seniors Cicely Clark and Morgan Kresslein, and sophomore Allie Petryszak received the honor, with Katz-Starr, Clark, and Kresslein being repeat selections.

Recognizing Academic and Athletic Excellence
The CSC Academic All-District® Women’s Soccer Teams celebrate the nation’s top student-athletes across NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA divisions. To qualify, nominees must maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA and demonstrate high athletic performance. Communications directors from participating institutions nominate deserving players.
Profiles of the Honorees
Flor Katz-Starr
- Academic Achievements: Three-time Academic All-District honoree (2022, 2023, 2024).
- Academics: Environmental studies major and biology minor, 3.55 GPA.
- Athletic Performance: Two-year team captain, Second Team All-United East Conference. The 5-foot-2 midfielder contributed four assists this season.
Cicely Clark
- Academic Achievements: Three-time Academic All-District honoree.
- Academics: Marine science and biology double major, 3.92 GPA.
- Athletic Performance: The 5-foot-6 defender/midfielder appeared in all 23 games, starting 22. She contributed to 18 shutouts while adding a goal and four assists. Clark earned Second Team All-United East honors and was named United East Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 21.
Morgan Kresslein
- Academic Achievements: Three-time Academic All-District honoree, Elite 20 Award recipient.
- Academics: Neuroscience and biology double major, 4.0 GPA.
- Athletic Performance: Recorded three goals and one assist, earning Third Team All-United East honors. The Elite 20 Award recognizes her as the student-athlete with the highest GPA among the final two teams in the conference tournament.
Allie Petryszak
- Academic Achievements: First-time Academic All-District selection.
- Academics: Business major and sociology minor, 3.61 GPA.
- Athletic Performance: First Team All-United East selection. The 5-foot-3 defender scored four goals, including three game-winners, while contributing to 18 shutouts.
Advancing to Academic All-America®
Clark and Petryszak will advance to the CSC Academic All-America® national ballot, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees to be announced on Dec. 11, 2024. This next stage further distinguishes academic and athletic excellence on a national level.
