ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s soccer players Jack Nelson and Tyler Foti have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® team. The recognition, announced on Tuesday, highlights their outstanding performances both on the field and in the classroom.
The CSC Academic All-District® Teams, part of the larger CSC Academic All-America® program, celebrate student-athletes across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III as well as the NAIA for their academic and athletic achievements. To qualify, nominees must hold a minimum GPA of 3.50 and meet rigorous athletic standards.

Excellence On and Off the Field
Sophomore Tyler Foti, a 6-foot-2 midfielder from Annandale, Va., majors in business administration and maintains a 3.64 GPA. Foti’s contributions to the Seahawks’ success include earning his first career all-conference honor with a spot on the United East Conference Second Team. He played a key role in five shutout victories and added a game-winning goal along with two assists during the season.
Junior Jack Nelson, a 5-foot-9 midfielder from Ellicott City, Md., is an economics and business administration double major with a 3.61 GPA. Nelson’s exceptional season earned him the United East Conference Defensive Player of the Year award and First Team All-United East honors. He was a vital component in the team’s five shutouts and ranked second on the team with seven goals while contributing two assists.
Advancing to the National Stage
Nelson’s recognition as a CSC Academic All-America® finalist underscores his remarkable achievements. He will advance to the national ballot, where members of the CSC will select first-, second-, and third-team honorees. The final results will be announced on December 10, 2024.
