The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run that occurred on Friday night in Accokeek, Maryland. The victim, identified as 40-year-old Loretta Canter-Andrews of Accokeek, was struck and killed on Indian Head Highway near Farmington Road.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. on November 22, patrol officers responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers found Canter-Andrews in the roadway suffering from severe trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to preliminary findings, Canter-Andrews was struck by a driver traveling northbound on Indian Head Highway. The driver fled the scene without stopping or providing aid. Police are actively working to identify the driver and the vehicle involved in the incident.
