BALTIMORE – The U.S. Department of Labor is urging workers in Maryland to claim over $6.8 million in unpaid wages recovered by the Wage and Hour Division (WHD) of its Baltimore district office. The funds, owed to 5,243 workers, are accessible through the Workers Owed Wages (WOW) online tool.

The WOW tool enables individuals to check if they are owed back wages from current or former employers. The department encourages anyone who believes they may be entitled to wages—or knows someone who might be—to utilize the user-friendly platform, available in English and Spanish.

How to Access the WOW Tool

Workers can visit the Workers Owed Wages (WOW) search tool online, where they can input their employer’s name to determine if they are eligible to claim wages.

“Returning recovered wages to workers is a top priority for the Wage and Hour Division,” stated a department representative. “Our WOW tool is a quick and accessible way to ensure workers get what they are owed.”

Regional Coordination

The WHD’s regional office in Philadelphia oversees wage distribution for Maryland. As the year draws to a close, the department is intensifying efforts to locate eligible workers and return their earnings swiftly.
