The Charles County Youth Orchestra (CCYO), under the direction of Dr. Osman Kivrak, will present two festive holiday performances this December, featuring a mix of seasonal classics and pieces by renowned composers such as Handel and Pachelbel.

Admission to the market is $5 (free for children 10 and under). Fireworks will follow the orchestra’s performance at 6:00 p.m.
Mid-Year Auditions and Upcoming Opportunities
Mid-year auditions for all CCYO ensembles are scheduled for February 8, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Christ Church, La Plata. Interested musicians can find audition details at charlescountyyouthorchestra.org/auditions.
CCYO offers students ages 7 to 18 a wide array of educational and performance opportunities, including two major concerts annually, smaller performances, a two-week Chamber Music Festival, and a Concerto Competition Concert. Recent performances have been held at venues such as the Port Tobacco Courthouse, Alice Ferguson Foundation, and Indian Head Village Green.
Recognition and Accomplishments
CCYO has gained recognition through an online film by the Charles County Arts Alliance and features on WTOP radio. Notably, two CCYO String Quartets were finalists in the Washington Performing Arts Society Misbin Chamber Music Competition in Washington, D.C.
