
LEONARDTOWN, MD (January 17, 2025) – Authorities have arrested Charles Henry Thompson, 30, of Lexington Park, Maryland, in connection with a shooting that occurred on October 30, 2024, in the 22000 block of Valley Estates, Lexington Park. Deputies from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the U.S. Marshals Service, located Thompson in South Carolina, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Thompson was extradited to St. Mary’s County on January 15, 2025, and is being held at the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center. He faces charges including attempted first- and second-degree murder.
Two other individuals, Mark Albert Fenwick Jr., 32, of Park Hall, Maryland, and Jarrell Raheim Johnson, 36, of Prince Frederick, Maryland, were arrested in November 2024 in connection with the same shooting. Both suspects remain in custody awaiting trial.


Fenwick faces multiple charges, including:
- Attempted first- and second-degree murder
- First- and second-degree assault
- Armed robbery
- Theft
- Unlawful taking of a motor vehicle
Johnson is charged with accessory after the fact. Both were apprehended with the assistance of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office.
The initial incident occurred on October 30, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., when deputies responded to reports of a shooting at Valley Estates Drive in Lexington Park. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies administered first aid before the victim was airlifted to a regional hospital for treatment.
Authorities believe the incident was isolated. The victim’s current condition has not been disclosed.
