ST. MARY’S CITY, MD—St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s indoor track & field captains Michael Wade and Zack Kralec have been named the United East Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, respectively. The conference office announced the honors on Tuesday, January 21. This marks Wade’s first weekly recognition in track & field, while Kralec secures his third career accolade.
Wade, a 6-foot-1 senior from Woodstock, Maryland, delivered an impressive performance at the Alvernia University Winter Invite. He finished as the first Division III runner and second overall in the 3000m, clocking a time of 9:26.95 (9:20.43 converted). Wade also competed in the mile, placing 12th out of 43 runners with a time of 4:39.85 (4:36.33 converted). His efforts earned him conference-best times in both events and placed him 28th in the Mid-Atlantic region for the mile.

Kralec, a 6-foot-3 junior pole vaulter from Monkton, Maryland, excelled in his event at the same meet. He achieved a second-place finish out of 21 competitors in the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.30 meters. His consistent performances continue to make him a standout athlete in the United East Conference.
The Seahawks will return to competition on Friday, January 31, at the Marlin Invitational, hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
