ST. MARY’S CITY, MD—Jillian Zukley, a sophomore from Severna Park, Maryland, competing for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s indoor track and field team, has been named the United East Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week. The league office announced the honor on Tuesday, January 21. This marks Zukley’s fourth career United East weekly award and her second during the current indoor season.

Zukley earned this accolade after an outstanding performance at the Alvernia Winter Invite, where she secured top placements in two events. She placed third out of 51 competitors in the shot put with a throw of 11.72 meters. In the weight throw, Zukley shattered her own school record with a personal-best mark of 13.75 meters, surpassing her previous record of 11.27 meters set on December 7, 2024. Her fourth-place finish in the weight throw came in a field of 44 athletes.
The 6-foot-3 thrower now holds the best weight throw mark in the United East Conference and is ranked 11th in the Mid-Atlantic region, solidifying her as a key competitor in the indoor track and field season.
The Seahawks are scheduled to return to action on Friday, January 31, at the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University. The meet will take place at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
