
LEONARDTOWN, Md. – St. Mary’s County Government announced that County Attorney Buffy Giddens has been named to The Daily Record’s 2025 Leaders in Law listing. This recognition honors legal professionals across Maryland for exemplary leadership and dedication to public service. The program, conducted in collaboration with the Maryland State Bar Association, celebrates those who uphold the law and strengthen communities.
Buffy Giddens is recognized for her steadfast commitment to protecting the interests of St. Mary’s County residents. Commissioner President Randy Guy praised her professionalism and legal expertise, stating that her leadership has significantly enhanced county government and made a lasting impact on the community. In her response, Giddens expressed gratitude for the honor and reaffirmed her commitment to serving the residents of St. Mary’s County.
This accolade continues a strong tradition of recognizing legal excellence in Southern Maryland. In 2020, St. Mary’s County Government Attorney, David A. Weiskopf received the Leadership in Law Award . Similarly, in 2022, Jaymi Sterling was named to The Daily Record’s Leaders in Law, and in 2023, Yonelle Moore-Lee, Esq. was honored among the top 100 women.
