SOLOMONS, Md. — Rising country star Shane Profitt will open for Darius Rucker at the Calvert Marine Museum’s Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion on July 10, 2025, kicking off a night of live music in Southern Maryland. The announcement, made April 11, 2025, highlights Profitt’s rapid ascent in Nashville’s country scene, promising a high-energy performance before Rucker’s headlining set.

Profitt, a 25-year-old from Columbia, Tennessee, brings a blue-collar authenticity to his music, blending honky-tonk anthems with heartfelt storytelling. His setlist is expected to feature hits like the Top 15 country radio single “How It Oughta Be,” “Still Picks Up,” and tracks from his growing catalog, which have earned him standing ovations at the Grand Ole Opry and Ryman Auditorium. Starting with just three guitar chords, Profitt has transitioned from manual labor to sold-out stages in a few years, resonating with fans through his relatable lyrics and commanding voice.

Tickets for the concert are on sale now through Etix.com, the official ticketing partner of the Waterside Music Series. The museum advises purchasing only through Etix, as it cannot verify tickets from third-party resale sites, ensuring fans avoid scams. The venue, seating 1,800, expects a packed crowd, following last year’s sellout shows, per museum records.

Darius Rucker, a Grammy-winning artist known for Hootie & the Blowfish and solo hits like “Wagon Wheel,” headlines the event, marking his third appearance at the pavilion since 2019. The pairing reflects the museum’s tradition of blending established stars with emerging talent, as seen with past openers like Brett Young. Profitt’s performance aligns with his 2025 tour, including festival slots at CMA Fest, building on his 2024 Opry debut.

Calvert County’s music scene thrives on such events, drawing 25,000 visitors annually to the pavilion, boosting local tourism by $2 million, according to a 2023 county report. The concert, set against Solomons’ waterfront, offers a summer highlight, with food vendors and local craft beer from Patuxent Brewing available.

Profitt’s rise mirrors Southern Maryland’s growing cultural pull, with the museum hosting 12 concerts in 2025, up from eight in 2022. His working-class roots echo the region’s values, connecting with fans who value authenticity. The event also supports the museum’s mission, funding exhibits like the Dee of St. Mary’s skipjack through ticket sales.

Fans are urged to secure tickets early, as Rucker’s shows often sell out. Gates open at 6 p.m., with Profitt performing at 7 p.m., followed by Rucker at 8:30 p.m. Parking details and VIP packages are available on the museum’s website, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.
