Comcast has launched a new five-year price guarantee for Xfinity Internet customers, a first for the company, aimed at providing stable and transparent pricing. The nationwide offer, starting at $55 per month, includes unlimited data, high-speed WiFi equipment, and no annual contract, allowing customers to cancel anytime without penalties. The plan also provides an option to add an Xfinity Mobile line with access to gig-speed WiFi through WiFi PowerBoost.
The initiative addresses consumer concerns about rising costs and unclear pricing in internet services. Comcast’s plan locks in rates for five years, ensuring customers know their costs upfront. The package includes the Xfinity Gateway, capable of supporting over 100 devices, and access to Comcast’s extensive WiFi network, which the company claims is the largest and fastest in the U.S. This network extends connectivity for customers on the go at no extra cost, according to Comcast’s announcement.
“We’re addressing two significant consumer pain points – rising costs and transparency – with incredible value and easy-to-understand pricing that is locked in for five years,” said Steve Croney, Chief Operating Officer, Connectivity and Platforms, Comcast. The company emphasizes that the plan simplifies billing and enhances value, particularly for customers bundling Xfinity Mobile, which leverages the nation’s largest converged network for gig-speed connectivity.
New Xfinity Internet customers opting for the five-year guarantee receive several features. The Xfinity Gateway ensures robust WiFi for multiple devices, while unlimited data is standard. For the first year, an unlimited Xfinity Mobile line is included at no additional cost. Over 90% of Xfinity Mobile data traffic uses WiFi, and WiFi PowerBoost enables speeds up to 1 Gbps both at home and on the go.
Comcast has also introduced ultra-low lag internet, enhancing experiences for applications like FaceTime on Apple devices, Meta’s mixed reality headsets, NVIDIA’s GeForce NOW, and Valve’s Steam Games platform. This technology, rolled out in 2024, minimizes delays for real-time applications, improving performance for gaming and video calls, as noted in a Fierce Telecom report.
Security and control are additional benefits. The Xfinity Gateway includes Xfinity Advanced Security, which protects devices from malware and cyber threats at the gateway level. Parental controls, accessible via the Xfinity app, allow users to manage network settings, set schedules, pause WiFi, and monitor new device connections. These features align with industry trends toward enhanced cybersecurity, as highlighted by CNET’s analysis of home internet security.
Customers can sign up online at www.xfinity.com or at local Xfinity stores. The offer reflects Comcast’s broader strategy to compete in a crowded market by emphasizing reliability and transparency. The company’s WiFi network, bolstered by millions of hotspots, supports its claim of nationwide coverage, per a 2025 BroadbandNow report.
This move comes as internet providers face pressure to retain customers amid growing competition from fiber and 5G providers. Comcast’s five-year guarantee aims to build loyalty through predictable pricing and robust features, positioning Xfinity as a competitive option for high-speed internet and mobile services.
