LEONARDTOWN, Md. — Two juveniles were arrested and charged as adults with attempted murder following a shooting in Lexington Park on March 5, 2025, the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announced. The incident, which occurred in the 46000 block of Marshall Boulevard, left a male victim with a gunshot wound to the face.
Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 1 a.m. and found the victim, who was promptly transported for medical treatment. The Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division led the investigation, culminating in the execution of District Court arrest warrants on April 17, 2025, at residences in Lexington Park.
A 14-year-old juvenile faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony/violent crime, loaded handgun on person, and handgun on person.
A 17-year-old juvenile is charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, firearm use in a felony/violent crime, loaded handgun on person, and handgun on person. Both were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center, where they await bond hearings.
Maryland law prohibits the public identification of juveniles, even when charged as adults, to protect their identities during judicial proceedings.
