KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The NASCAR Cup Series will race at Kansas Speedway on Sunday, May 11, for the AdventHealth 400, a 400.5-mile event starting at 3 p.m. ET. The 1.5-mile asphalt oval will also host the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series on Saturday, May 10, for the Heart of Health Care 200 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The NASCAR Xfinity Series will compete next at Charlotte Motor Speedway on May 24 for the BetMGM 300. All events will be broadcast on FS1, with additional coverage on MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90, and FOX Deportes for the Cup Series race.

The AdventHealth 400, the 39th Cup Series race at Kansas Speedway, carries a purse of $11,055,250. The race spans 267 laps, with Stage 1 ending on Lap 80, Stage 2 on Lap 165, and the final stage concluding on Lap 267. Recent races at Kansas have been highly competitive, with the last six events won by six different drivers. Kyle Larson, with two victories, is the only repeat winner in the last nine races. Twenty drivers have won at Kansas, including nine active this weekend: Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Ross Chastain, Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, Larson, and Chase Elliott.

The Heart of Health Care 200, the 30th Truck Series race at Kansas, offers a $782,900 purse. The 201-mile race covers 134 laps, with Stage 1 ending on Lap 30, Stage 2 on Lap 60, and the final stage on Lap 134. Corey Heim, who swept both Kansas races in 2024, leads the Truck Series standings by 46 points. Four active drivers have won at Kansas: Heim, Matt Crafton, Grant Enfinger, and William Byron.

Kansas Speedway has a storied history since its opening in 2001. Construction began in 1999 on the 1,200-acre site, designed by HNTB and managed by Turner Construction. The $250 million project faced delays from weather and lawsuits but transformed the area, spurring developments like the Hollywood Casino, which opened in 2012. The track’s 2012 repave introduced variable banking up to 20 degrees, enhancing racing dynamics. In 2015, Kansas added 3,475 feet of SAFER barriers, ensuring all outside walls are protected.

Recent Kansas races have been thrilling. In May 2023, Larson edged Chris Buescher by 0.001 second, the closest finish in Cup Series history. The race saw 37 lead changes, a record for a 400-mile race on a 1.5-mile track. The pass for the win occurred in the final two laps in three of the last four Kansas races, including two last-lap passes. Christopher Bell has dominated qualifying, securing the pole in the last three Kansas races, trailing only Kevin Harvick’s five poles at the track.

Hendrick Motorsports has been a powerhouse in 2025, leading 1,135 laps and securing 27 top-10 finishes through 11 races. Larson leads all drivers with 596 laps led, seven top-five finishes, and eight top-10 finishes. William Byron’s average finish of 8.91 is the best among all drivers, followed by Larson at 10.6 and Chase Elliott at 11.4. Hendrick drivers hold three of the top four spots in points: Byron (first), Larson (second), and Elliott (fourth).

In the Truck Series, Heim’s dominance on 1.5-mile tracks is unmatched, leading 218 of 442 laps raced in 2025. Tyler Ankrum’s recent win at Rockingham ended a 130-race winless streak, and he joins Heim as the only drivers with top-10 finishes in all three 1.5-mile races this season. Morgen Baird will make his Truck Series debut at Kansas, while Brandon Jones, a two-time Xfinity Series winner at Kansas, drives the No. 1 truck.

The Xfinity Series’ BetMGM 300 at Charlotte, a 300-mile race on May 24, will feature 200 laps with stages ending on Laps 45, 90, and 200. Justin Allgaier, the points leader, is the only full-time driver with a prior Charlotte win. The last 12 Charlotte Xfinity races had 12 different winners, with Chase Elliott taking the 2024 event.

Kansas Speedway’s weekend kicks off Friday, May 9, with the ARCA Menards Series’ Tide 150 at 8 p.m. ET. Saturday includes Truck Series practice and qualifying at 2 p.m. ET on FS2, followed by Cup Series practice and Busch Light Pole Qualifying at 4:30 p.m. ET on Amazon Prime. The Truck Series race follows, with the Cup Series headlining Sunday. Fans can expect close finishes and fierce competition, continuing Kansas Speedway’s legacy as a premier racing venue.
