LEONARDTOWN, Md., May 28, 2025 — The Town of Leonardtown is calling for local performers to showcase their skills in the inaugural Leonardtown’s Got Talent competition, with auditions now open through July 10. This community-wide event invites St. Mary’s County residents to submit audition videos for a chance to perform live on August 9, with the winner earning a coveted spot to open Leonardtown’s Labor Day Concert and fireworks show.

Open to individuals and groups aged 13 and older, the competition welcomes a variety of family-friendly acts, including singing, dancing, comedy, magic, instrumental performances, and more. “The Town of Leonardtown is excited to announce that audition submissions are officially open for the first-ever Leonardtown’s Got Talent — a community-wide talent competition designed to showcase the incredible performers of St. Mary’s County,” the town stated in its announcement.

Participants must submit a 30- to 90-second audition video introducing their act. Each act is limited to one submission, and group members may not submit multiple entries for the same act. Selected performers will present final performances, lasting no longer than five minutes, judged by a panel of local performing arts professionals. Evaluation criteria include skill, creativity, stage presence, and entertainment value. Full contest details and submission instructions are available at www.VisitLeonardtownMD.com/talentshow.
