Sykesville, Md. – Seniors George Berbakos and Cole Tarleton of St. Mary’s College of Maryland baseball team were named to the 2025 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III and D3baseball.com All-Region Teams, announced May 27. Tarleton secured D3baseball.com All-Region 4 First Team and ABCA/Rawlings All-Region 4 Second Team honors, while Berbakos earned Third Team recognition from both organizations.
Tarleton, a 6-2 outfielder from Hollywood, Maryland, concluded his career as a three-time all-region honoree, previously earning D3baseball.com All-Region 4 Third Team in 2022. He was named the 2025 United East Conference Player of the Year, becoming the first in program history to receive four all-conference awards, with Second Team honors in 2022 and 2023, and First Team in 2024 and 2025. Berbakos, a 6-2 second baseman from Sykesville, Maryland, received his first all-region honors and First Team All-United East recognition in 2025.

Tarleton led the United East with a .444 batting average, .838 slugging percentage, and 1.412 OPS, while ranking second with a .574 on-base percentage. He tied for first in the conference with a 1.000 fielding percentage, recording 59 putouts and two assists in 61 chances. Tarleton also tied for second with five triples, tied for ninth with 43 RBI, and tied for 10th with six home runs. Nationally, among Division III players, he ranked third in on-base percentage, ninth in slugging percentage, 11th in batting average, 15th with 1.48 RBI per game, and 22nd with 0.97 walks per game. He tied for 12th with 0.17 triples per game and tied for 27th in triples.
Berbakos tied for second in the United East with five triples and tied for fourth with 24 double plays turned. He led the Seahawks with 36 runs scored and shared the team lead with 11 doubles. Berbakos ranked second on the team with a .364 batting average, 43 hits, and eight stolen bases, and third with 25 RBI. In Division III, he also tied for 12th with 0.17 triples per game and tied for 27th in triples.
Tarleton’s senior season included 13 multi-hit games, 12 multi-RBI games, a 19-game hit streak from March 12 to May 2, and a 29-game reached base streak. He was named United East Player of the Week twice and earned a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on April 30. Over his career, Tarleton recorded a .400 batting average with 162 hits in 405 at-bats, including 38 doubles, 17 home runs, and 12 triples in 114 games. He drove in 115 runs, scored 106, and stole 17 bases.
Berbakos finished his career with a .335 batting average, 127 hits in 379 at-bats, 33 doubles, nine triples, and four home runs in 101 games. He scored 91 runs, drove in 85, and stole 20 bases.
The selections mark the seventh all-region awards for the Seahawks baseball program. Previous honorees include Trevor Smith (2024 ABCA All-Region 4 Second Team), Sam Beatty (2014 ABCA All-South Region Third Team), and Steve Oursler (1999, the program’s first all-region recipient).
St. Mary’s College concluded the 2025 season with a 13-16 overall record and an 11-5 mark in the United East Conference, marking their fourth consecutive season with double-digit wins. The 11 conference victories were the most since 2023, when the team went 10-10. The Seahawks earned the third seed in the United East Tournament, hosting a playoff game for the first time since 2011 and advancing to the Final Four.
