LEXINGTON PARK, Md., June 8, 2025 — St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested four Washington, D.C., men early Sunday following a retail burglary at a business in the 21000 block of Great Mills Road. The suspects, identified as David Burch, 29, Darryl Harrison, 22, Ejion Thorton, 19, and Javeion White, 19, face charges of second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, theft of up to $1,500 but less than $25,000, and destruction of property.
At approximately 4:20 a.m., deputies responded to a commercial burglary alarm. Surveillance footage revealed a Honda passenger car used in the crime, later confirmed stolen via Maryland databases. Deputies spotted the vehicle on Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville and attempted a traffic stop near the 26000 block. The car fled, but stop sticks halted it, prompting multiple suspects to flee on foot.

A coordinated search involving the Sheriff’s Office drone unit, a Charles County Sheriff’s Office K-9 team, Maryland State Police Trooper 7, and patrol deputies led to several apprehensions. Concurrently, a deputy patrolling Queen Tree Road stopped a silver BMW speeding in Mechanicsville, identifying three occupants as burglary suspects. A community tip alerted deputies to another suspect in a silver Nissan Altima on Delabrooke Road, leading to an additional arrest.
The suspects were transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown to await bond hearings. Sheriff Steve Hall praised the deputies’ efforts, stating, “I want to thank our incredible staff for their outstanding work this morning. But let me be clear—this investigation is far from over. The work will continue for weeks, because, as is often the case, the real challenge begins after the arrest is made. These were not random acts. These are individuals with no regard for others—speeding through our streets in stolen cars, breaking into businesses, and leaving a trail of damage behind. In St. Mary’s County, we will not allow criminals to come into our community and act without consequence. Our deputies are out there doing what needs to be done. I want the public to understand the weight of that responsibility.”
The Sheriff’s Office thanked the Maryland State Police, Charles County Sheriff’s Office, and community members whose tips aided the arrests. The Criminal Investigations Division is handling the ongoing case.
