ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – Jessica Lanham, head coach of the St. Mary’s College field hockey team, announced the 2025 schedule on July 10, 2025, as she enters her 10th season. The 16-game schedule includes eight home matches at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium, giving fans ample opportunities to see the Seahawks, who won the 2024 United East Conference championship.
The St. Mary’s College field hockey team, fresh off securing the 2024 United East regular-season and tournament titles, will face four teams from the 2024 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship, three conference champions, and two tournament runners-up. Last season, the Seahawks earned their second straight NCAA Tournament berth and maintained a 22-0 conference record over four years.
Non-Conference Competition
St. Mary’s College field hockey starts at home, hosting Sewanee on August 30, Virginia Wesleyan on September 3, and Bridgewater on September 6. Sewanee and Bridgewater reached their conference tournament semifinals, while Virginia Wesleyan was an Old Dominion Athletic Conference quarterfinalist. The team then travels to play Goucher on September 10, Salisbury on September 13, and Randolph-Macon on September 17. Salisbury, a national semifinalist and Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference champion, is a key opponent.
The St. Mary’s College field hockey team returns to Jamie L. Roberts Stadium to face York College of Pennsylvania, the 2024 MAC Commonwealth champion and NCAA Second Round team, on September 20, followed by Stevenson on September 24. A trip to Raleigh, North Carolina, follows, with games against Shenandoah, an NCAA Second Round participant, and Wittenberg, a North Coast Athletic Conference semifinalist, on September 27-28.
St. Mary’s College field hockey plays Immaculata, the Atlantic East runner-up, on October 8 and wraps non-conference play at Christopher Newport, an NCAA quarterfinalist, on October 22.
United East Conference Games
St. Mary’s College field hockey opens United East play at Lancaster Bible on October 11, followed by home games against Penn State Harrisburg on October 15 and Cedar Crest on October 18 for Hawktoberfest. Penn State Harrisburg lost to the Seahawks in the 2024 United East semifinals. The regular season closes at home against Wilson College, a 2024 semifinalist, on October 25.
The United East Tournament begins with semifinals on November 1 at the top two seeds’ venues, with the championship on November 8 at the highest remaining seed’s site.
Season Expectations
