LEONARDTOWN, MD Terek Demaury Ross, a 29-year-old from Lexington Park, Maryland, was sentenced to life in prison with 50 years of active incarceration on July 14, 2025, for two counts of attempted first-degree murder following a violent domestic assault. The sentencing, announced by State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling, stems from a vicious attack on August 3, 2024, where Terek Demaury Ross broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home and stabbed two women.

Violent Home Invasion

The incident occurred at a residence on Ronald Drive in Lexington Park. Terek Demaury Ross forcibly entered the home and used a kitchen knife to attack his ex-girlfriend, inflicting multiple stab wounds, including a severe injury behind her ear. She escaped upstairs and called 911. Terek Demaury Ross then attacked a second woman, who was sleeping on a couch, stabbing her multiple times in the right eye and left arm. She fled to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Swift Apprehension

After the assault, Terek Demaury Ross stole a victim’s car and fled. Calvert County Sheriff’s Office deputies apprehended him later that day on Maryland Route 4. Both victims were airlifted to trauma centers for emergency treatment and were reported stable.

“This was one of the most brutal acts of domestic violence in our community,” said State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling. “Such viciousness must be met with the full force of the law, and while no sentence can ever undo the physical and mental harm caused, I hope this 50-year prison sentence provides some sense of justice and safety for the victims and our community.”

Terek Demaury Ross faced charges including two counts each of attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, felony theft, and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle. The St. Mary’s County Circuit Court, presided over by Judge Joseph Stanalonis, imposed the sentence. Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Lisa Ridge prosecuted the case, with Detectives Andrew Burgess, David Lawrence, and Deputy Alexander Tasciotti leading the investigation .
