The St. Mary’s College women’s lacrosse team has earned its 13th consecutive IWLCA Academic Honor Squad distinction, as announced by the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on July 22, 2025, in Northborough, Massachusetts. With a remarkable 3.395 team GPA for the 2024-25 academic year, the Seahawks continue to excel both on the field and in the classroom, representing Southern Maryland with pride. Five St. Mary’s College women’s lacrosse student-athletes were also named to the IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll, showcasing their individual academic prowess.
The IWLCA recognized 383 schools across Divisions I, II, III, and NAIA as 2025 Academic Honor Squads, requiring a team GPA of 3.2 or higher. St. Mary’s College women’s lacrosse, alongside Bryn Athyn College, represented the United East Conference, marking the Seahawks’ 16th such honor in 18 years, with no awards given in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Individual Academic Achievements
Five St. Mary’s College women’s lacrosse players earned spots on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, which requires a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher for juniors, seniors, or graduate students. Honorees include Hailey Betch ’25 (Severna Park, Md.), Claire Boudreau ’27 (Towson, Md.), Isabel Gautreaux ’26 (Bel Air, Md.), Madison Laine ’25 (Kingsville, Md.), and Claire Lischinsky ’27 (Gardiner, N.Y.). Laine secured her second Honor Roll appearance, while Betch and Laine also earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors on June 17. All five were named to the 2025 United East Winter/Spring All-Academic Team.
The St. Mary’s College women’s lacrosse team’s academic success complements their athletic dominance, as they finished the 2024-25 season with a 10-8 record (4-0 UEC), clinching their fourth straight United East championship tournament title and a 12th NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Championship berth, though they fell in the first round.
