The pair of 3-0 victories improved the Seahawks’ record to 4-4, bringing them back to .500 in a season marked by competitive play in the United East Conference.

In the morning match against Eastern Mennonite (1-6), St. Mary’s secured a 25-23, 25-18, 25-21 win, finding their offensive stride in the final two sets with 17 kills each. Junior Maya Mauro led with 15 kills, three service aces, and 12 digs, showcasing her versatility. Sophomore Kaleigh Wiseman contributed 11 kills and a block, while senior Arielle Lubeck distributed 16 assists to drive the offense. Defensively, junior Stella Marrero added nine digs and an ace, helping limit the Royals to a .074 hitting percentage. The Seahawks recorded 47 kills and 53 points, outpacing Eastern Mennonite’s 24 kills and 35 points, per official box scores.

The afternoon match saw St. Mary’s overpower Regent University (6-3) with scores of 25-18, 25-19, and 25-19. Mauro again led with 16 kills at a .243 hitting efficiency, supported by Wiseman and junior Sanaa Porter, who combined for 11 kills and three blocks. Sophomore Lauren Panageotou and freshman Camilla Galeano orchestrated the attack with 18 and 13 assists, respectively, fueling a team hitting percentage of .269. Senior Julia Bobrowski anchored the defense with 14 digs and two aces. The Seahawks tallied 42 kills and 50 points, holding Regent to a .065 hitting percentage and 28 kills.

Across both matches, St. Mary’s amassed 89 kills, 122 digs, and 11 service aces while stifling opponents to a combined hitting percentage under .100. The team’s defensive prowess, averaging 7.6 digs per set this season, was evident in limiting errors and capitalizing on service opportunities. Coach Amy Martin highlighted the team’s balanced attack and resilience in a post-match statement, noting their ability to maintain focus through six sets.
