The College of Southern Maryland men’s soccer team will recognize eight sophomores before its home game against Garrett College on October 11, 2025, at 2 p.m. in La Plata, Maryland. The ceremony at CSM Soccer Field honors goalkeeper Brandon Rollins, forward Xavier Lalanne, defender Bryce Lawson, forward Antone Perry, defender Hayden Miller, midfielder Zach Cooper, defender Josky Densie and midfielder Zion Abdullah for their contributions over two seasons. The Hawks enter with a 4-5-4 overall record and 2-4-3 in Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference play, facing Garrett for the first time in program history.

The matchup marks the inaugural meeting between the teams, with no prior series history. Garrett holds a 4-6 record both overall and in conference, coming off a 1-7 loss to Montgomery College on October 9. CSM’s most recent game resulted in a 4-0 road loss to Howard Community College on October 2, where the Hawks managed eight shots but failed to score. Live streaming is available on the college’s YouTube channel, with no tickets required for attendance.

Brandon Rollins, a 6-foot-4 sophomore from Indian Head who attended Lackey High School, has anchored the goal in 10 games this season, starting all with 855 minutes played. He maintains a 2.00 goals-against average, 64 saves at a 77.1 percent rate and three shutouts. Over his career, Rollins has appeared in 21 games, all starts, totaling 1,569 minutes with 186 saves and a 75.3 percent save rate. His performance builds on a freshman year where he helped stabilize the defense during a rebuilding phase.

These figures represent his career totals, reflecting steady offensive involvement.

Bryce Lawson, a homeschooled defender from Waldorf, has seen action in four games this year. His career spans 11 games with one start, demonstrating reserve depth on the back line.

Antone Perry, a forward from Waldorf who attended Thomas Stone High School, has participated in eight games with seven starts, earning two points via assists on seven shots, five on goal for a 71.4 percent shots-on-goal rate. These stats encompass his two-year tenure.

Hayden Miller, a defender from Indian Head and North Point High School alumnus, has appeared in five games with three starts, recording two shots. This mirrors his career output at CSM.

Zach Cooper, a midfielder from Dunkirk who graduated from Northern High School, has played in eight games with two starts this season, taking three shots with one on goal for a 33.3 percent rate. Career-wise, he has 19 appearances, six starts and identical shooting stats.

Zion Abdullah, a homeschooled midfielder from Welcome, earned 2024 All-Region 20 second-team and All-MD JUCO honorable mention honors. This season, he has started all 13 games, amassing four points from two goals on 12 shots, six on goal for 50 percent shots-on-goal and 16.7 percent shot rates. His career includes 23 games, all starts, with seven points from three goals and one assist on 16 shots, 10 on goal for 62.5 percent shots-on-goal and 18.8 percent shot rates.

These sophomores form a core group for the Hawks, who aim to secure their first MD JUCO championship since 2008, 17 years ago. The team has scored 20 goals in nine games this season, averaging 2.22 per game on 116 shots for a 17.2 percent rate, while allowing 1.78 goals against. In conference standings, CSM ranks 10th with nine points, behind leaders Howard at 33 and CCBC Essex at 27.

Garrett, located in McHenry in western Maryland, competes in the same conference, with a schedule featuring road-heavy early games. Their 5-0 win over Carroll on October 2 highlights offensive capabilities, averaging two goals per game. For CSM, a victory could improve seeding ahead of the MD JUCO tournament in late October, where top teams advance to Region 20 playoffs.
