LEONARDTOWN, Md. — St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Dmontre Montez Bush, 25, of Lexington Park on Dec. 3, 2025, on charges stemming from a stabbing and armed robbery that occurred two weeks earlier in the same community.
Bush faces charges of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and two counts of theft of property valued between $100 and $1,500. He was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after deputies executed an arrest warrant. Following processing, Bush was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, where he awaits a bail review hearing.
The charges are linked to an incident that unfolded the evening of Sunday, Nov. 16, 2025, in the 21000 block of Spyglass Way in Lexington Park. Deputies first responded to a call for a suspicious situation at that location. Minutes later, a second emergency call came from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department on Golden Beach Road, less than three miles away, reporting a walk-in patient suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The victim told investigators he had arranged to meet an acquaintance when several suspects confronted him. The group allegedly robbed him at knifepoint and stabbed him multiple times before he managed to break free, return to his vehicle, and drive himself to the fire station for help. Medevac helicopter transported the victim to a trauma center outside St. Mary’s County. He received treatment and was later released.
Detectives from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division developed Bush as a suspect through evidence collected at the scene and witness statements gathered during the ensuing investigation. An arrest warrant was issued, leading to Wednesday’s apprehension.
The case remains active, and additional suspects have not been ruled out. Authorities continue to gather evidence and interview potential witnesses.
St. Mary’s County residents with information about the incident are urged to contact Detective Kortnie Marsch at 301-475-4200, ext. 8179, or Kortnie.Marsch@stmaryscountymd.gov.
