Registration opened December 18, 2025, for St. Mary’s County Department of Recreation and Parks’ annual Mother-Son Dance and Daddy-Daughter Dance, both themed as a Winter Wonderland and scheduled for early 2026 at the Loffler Center.
The Mother-Son Dance takes place Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m., while the Daddy-Daughter Dance follows on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. These semi-formal gatherings welcome parents, stepparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, or other adult figures to accompany children ages 4 through 14.
Each event features music and dancing in a decorated space, along with light refreshments, photo opportunities, and additional activities. The venue, the Loffler Center at Chancellor’s Run Regional Park in Great Mills, serves primarily as a senior activity center but hosts community events like these dances in its multipurpose areas.
Fees stand at $60 per adult-child pair for county residents, with $25 added for each extra participant, such as siblings. Pre-registration is mandatory through the department’s online system, and no walk-ins will be allowed on event days to manage capacity and preparations.
