ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. — The St. Mary’s College of Maryland men’s basketball team secured a 67-62 non-conference win over Eastern Mennonite University on January 3, 2026, at the Michael P. O’Brien Athletics & Recreation Center, improving to 5-6 on the season.

First-year guard Korey Blair of Baltimore led the Seahawks with 20 points on 5-of-10 field goals and 10-of-14 free throws. Sophomore James Crimaudo of Riva added 18 points and a career-high nine rebounds, while senior captain JD Salo of Dunkirk contributed eight points and a game-high 11 rebounds. The Seahawks went 8-of-11 from the free throw line in the final minute to preserve the lead.

Eastern Mennonite, now 3-8, received a game-high 22 points from Aaron Brooks, who also had four assists, three rebounds, and three steals. Donovan Arnason scored 12 points, and Isaiah Carr added 10 points with eight rebounds.

The Royals took their only lead of the game, 2-0, on a layup by Jazen Walker at 18:55 in the first half. St. Mary’s responded immediately, with Crimaudo scoring seven consecutive points to spark a 9-0 run that put the Seahawks ahead 9-2 at 15:36. The margin reached 14 points, 22-8, at 7:43 on free throws by Salo. Eastern Mennonite closed the half with a 13-9 run, trailing 31-21 at halftime.

The Royals opened the second half with a 21-11 surge to tie the score at 42-42 on a three-pointer by Brooks with 9:27 remaining. Eastern Mennonite later cut the deficit to 57-55 at 2:38 on a Brooks layup. Blair answered with a layup to extend the lead to four, and St. Mary’s sealed the victory with strong free throw shooting down the stretch.

St. Mary’s converted 12 Eastern Mennonite turnovers into 14 points and outscored the Royals 32-24 in the paint. The Seahawks held a 45-38 rebounding advantage, with Salo and Crimaudo combining for 20 of those boards. Both teams struggled from three-point range, combining to make 5-of-37 attempts. St. Mary’s finished 21-of-29 (72.4%) from the free throw line, compared to Eastern Mennonite’s 19-of-33 (57.6%).

The victory marked the Seahawks’ fifth of the season and highlighted Blair’s second consecutive 20-point performance. Crimaudo’s rebounding total set a new personal best, while Salo’s 11 rebounds represented his season high.

The team continues its schedule with a road game at Cairn University in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, on January 7, 2026, at 1 p.m., followed by a home contest against Penn State Abington on January 10 at 1 p.m., designated as Youth Day.
