Prince Frederick, MD — The Southern Maryland Bluegrass Concert Series will present two back-to-back performances in February 2026 at the Calvert Elks Lodge, featuring The Kody Norris Show on February 1 and The Po Ramblin’ Boys on February 15. Both concerts, the fourth and fifth of the season, are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the venue located at 1015 Dares Beach Road in Prince Frederick, Calvert County.

The Kody Norris Show, performing February 1, consists of frontman Kody Norris, Hayden “Jim” Hensley on banjo, Mary Rachel Nalley-Norris on fiddle and mandolin, and Charlie Lowman on bass. The four-piece band from Mountain City, Tennessee, is the reigning SPBGMA Entertainers of the Year. Known for rhinestones, fringe and a dynamic sound, the group has released the album “Highfalutin Hillbilly.” Promoters describe the act as resurrecting showmanship in bluegrass and country music, blending high-energy hard-driven bluegrass with old-time clawhammer banjo styles. Norris developed his interest in the genre as a child listening to The Stanley Brothers in his uncle’s Chevrolet El Camino and hearing harmonies in his Free Will Baptist Church. The band previously appeared on RFD-TV programs The Cumberland Highlanders Show and The Bluegrass Trail.

The Po Ramblin’ Boys, set for February 15, mark a decade as a band with a hard-charging, true-blue sound that has reached audiences across America. The group has experienced the highs and lows reflected in traditional bluegrass lyrics, including road travel, band changes and stage performances. Their recent album includes the title track “Wanderers Like Me,” which reached No. 1 on the Bluegrass Unlimited chart with the lyric “Wanderers like me don’t settle down for no one / don’t mind being lonesome, chasing dreams is all I ever need.” The current lineup features new members guitarist John Gooding from California and fiddle player Max Silverstein from Maine, both in their 20s, alongside CJ Lewandowski on mandolin, Jereme Brown on banjo, and Jasper Lorentzen on bass. Promoters note the configuration brings expansion and growth, introducing new energy while preserving old-style bluegrass roots and attracting younger fans.

The series, now in its fourth year at the Calvert Elks, continues to host prominent bluegrass artists. Future performances include The Country Gentlemen Show featuring Calvert County’s Mike Phipps on March 22 and Special Consensus on April 19 to close the season.

Tickets cost $23 per person and are sold at the door, with advance purchase available. Doors open around noon, food will be sold from noon to 2 p.m., and shows start at 2 p.m. For details, visit www.somdbluegrass.com or call 301-737-3004.

The events support the ongoing presence of traditional and contemporary bluegrass music in Southern Maryland, drawing regional audiences to Calvert County venues. The Calvert Elks Lodge serves as a consistent host for the series, providing a community space for live performances.
