St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks is gearing up for the 43rd Annual Easter Egg Festival, a beloved family tradition returning to the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
The rain-or-shine event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and opens free to the public, drawing families from across Southern Maryland for a day of springtime fun. Highlights include age-appropriate egg hunts for children up to 12, with roughly 1,000 eggs per hunt and special prize-filled eggs hidden among them. Kids can meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy free arts and crafts, face painting, live entertainment, local food vendors, and shopping from area merchants.

Egg hunt participation requires a $7 ticket per child, available for online purchase starting Monday, March 2, 2026, at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/Easter. General admission remains free, making the festival accessible for broad community attendance.
Vendor opportunities are open now for merchandise, crafts, information tables, and food sellers. Both returning and new vendors can apply; approved applicants secure space for a $60 fee. Application details and instructions appear at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/docs/eastervendorhowto.pdf. The event coordinator contacts approved vendors directly to confirm placement.
Sponsorships invite local businesses and organizations to support the festival through multiple levels, offering benefits like pre-event and onsite recognition, premium booth locations, and logo features on promotional materials. The full R&P Sponsorship & Partnership Guide is downloadable at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/docs/SponsorshipPacket.pdf.
Net proceeds fund the R&P Scholarship Fund, which helps qualified children and teens join Recreation & Parks programs at up to 50% reduced registration fees, expanding access to youth activities in St. Mary’s County.
The festival, coordinated by the Department of Recreation & Parks, continues as a key spring event in Southern Maryland, building on decades of community engagement at the fairgrounds. Additional details, including an event flyer, are posted at www.stmaryscountymd.gov/recreate/easter and www.stmaryscountymd.gov/Easter.
