
Cory Rashid Simpson, 34, of Oxon Hill, was arrested and charged April 11, 2026, after Charles County Sheriff’s Office officers responded to a report of indecent exposure and assault at a business in the Festival Way Shopping Center in Waldorf.
Officers were dispatched at 7 p.m. to the shopping center. A preliminary investigation determined that Simpson was inside the business in the shoe department, where he was seen performing a lewd act. A second person reported that Simpson touched her buttocks while she was in the store and that she observed him standing behind her.
Simpson fled the business before officers arrived. Patrol officers located him nearby and took him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Charles County Detention Center and charged with disorderly conduct / indecent exposure and assault.
Shortly before midnight on April 11, a district court commissioner released Simpson from the detention center on personal recognizance.
