Prince Frederick firefighters quickly controlled a structure fire Tuesday afternoon on North Cassell Boulevard.
At approximately 2:11 p.m. on May 5, units from the Prince Frederick Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 3400 block of North Cassell Boulevard for a reported structure fire at a single-family home.
Crews found the fire had started on the rear deck and extended into the structure. One occupant was home at the time and discovered the blaze. No injuries were reported. Two residents were displaced by the damage.

The fire was brought under control within 10 minutes. An estimated $75,000 in structural damage and $25,000 in contents damage was reported.
The incident remains under investigation by the Calvert County Fire/Rescue and the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The cause has not been determined.
