Ocean State Job Lot has signed a lease for a new store in Prince Frederick, bringing its Crazy Deals® shopping experience to Calvert County later this year.
The 38,322-square-foot location will occupy space in Fox Run Shopping Center at 615 Solomons Island Road North, Unit No. 7. It is scheduled to open in the third or fourth quarter of 2026, after Labor Day. The store will be one of Ocean State Job Lot’s southernmost locations in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The closest existing Ocean State Job Lot stores are in Chester and Glen Burnie, Maryland. The new Prince Frederick site will fill a retail gap for residents in Calvert County and surrounding areas of Southern Maryland.
The store is part of a larger expansion plan. Ocean State Job Lot signed leases for four new locations in 2026, including Middletown, New York; Glassboro, New Jersey; and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. All four will occupy former Big Lots spaces. With these additions, the company will have opened 24 former Big Lots locations as part of a strategic repurposing effort.

The Prince Frederick store will offer a wide selection of first-quality name brands and closeout merchandise at low prices, including household goods, apparel, pet supplies, seasonal products, lawn and garden essentials, holiday items, patio and beach supplies, kitchen staples, and gourmet and international specialty foods.
Ocean State Job Lot expects to hire up to 70 positions per store, including store leadership, supervisory, full-time, part-time and seasonal associates. The company is already recruiting for leadership positions at the Prince Frederick location.
