Rising country artist Wesko will open for Warren Zeiders when the Waterside Music Series returns to the Calvert Marine Museum on Friday, July 24.

The concert will be held at the Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion in Solomons. Wesko, whose real name is Wesley Keith Holmes, brings a gritty, heartfelt sound rooted in classic country and ’90s rock. The North Carolina native is quickly gaining national attention for songs that explore heartbreak, resilience and everyday life in small-town America.

Wesko was raised in Duplin County in southeastern North Carolina. He picked up a guitar at age 19 while working on the road and began writing songs within a year. By age 21 he made his stage debut in Nashville with stripped-down performances that showcased his raw talent. His authentic songwriting reflects the people and places that shaped him.

One of his standout singles, “Mr. Tennessee,” captures the emotional pull of home and the challenges of long-distance love. Wesko has also performed at high-profile events, including the Concert for Carolina benefit at the request of Luke Combs. His music blends traditional country storytelling with a modern edge, appealing to fans who value honesty over polish.

The July 24 show is part of the Calvert Marine Museum’s popular Waterside Music Series, which brings major artists to the scenic pavilion overlooking the Patuxent River. Solomons, a historic maritime village at the mouth of the river, draws visitors from Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties for concerts, museum exhibits and waterfront dining. The series offers residents a chance to enjoy live music in a relaxed outdoor setting while supporting one of Southern Maryland’s top cultural attractions.

Tickets for the Warren Zeiders concert, with Wesko opening, are priced from $60 to $110 (all-in pricing) and are sold exclusively through Etix, the museum’s official ticketing platform. Tickets purchased through third-party resellers cannot be verified or honored by the museum.

The announcement adds another high-energy night to the museum’s summer calendar. The pavilion provides sweeping views of the water, and past concerts have drawn large crowds of families and music fans from across the region. Concertgoers can expect a full evening of country music under the stars, with Wesko’s heartfelt set preparing the audience for Zeiders’ rising-star performance.

Calvert Marine Museum officials said the partnership continues the venue’s tradition of bringing diverse, high-quality entertainment to Southern Maryland. The museum, which features exhibits on the Chesapeake Bay’s natural and maritime history, has become a hub for community events that blend education, culture and recreation.

For many local residents, the Waterside Music Series offers an affordable way to enjoy big-name artists without traveling to larger venues in Washington or Baltimore. The July 24 show is expected to sell out quickly given Zeiders’ rapid rise and Wesko’s growing fan base.

Tickets and additional concert information are available through the museum’s website. Organizers recommend purchasing early through the official Etix platform to avoid issues with resold tickets.
