The Charles County Sheriff’s Office Judicial Services and the U.S. Marshals Office Capital Area Task Force have apprehended a suspect in a 2025 armed robbery in Waldorf.

Jaquan Devon Dorsey, 22, of no fixed address, was located in the Brandywine area on May 12 and taken into custody without incident. During the arrest, Dorsey was found in possession of a fully loaded semi-automatic handgun that was confirmed stolen from another jurisdiction.

The charges stem from an armed robbery that occurred on March 19, 2025, in the 1100 block of Bannister Circle in Waldorf. Four suspects traveling in a burgundy vehicle approached a male victim and his pregnant girlfriend, robbed the victim of his coat and shoes at gunpoint, and attempted to steal the female victim’s cellphone before fleeing.

Responding officers quickly located the suspect vehicle and arrested three individuals: Jontez Davon Dorsey, 25, of Waldorf; Marquise Antoine Taylor, 25, of Waldorf; and a 17-year-old male from Waldorf who was charged as an adult. Jaquan Devon Dorsey fled the scene, leading to an arrest warrant.

Dorsey was charged with armed robbery, possession of a regulated firearm, two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of reckless endangerment, theft valued between $100 and $1,500, conspiracy to commit robbery, and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. Cpl. T. Rickard made the apprehension.

Charles County Sheriff’s Office officials emphasized the importance of partnerships with federal agencies like the U.S. Marshals to locate fugitives and remove illegal firearms from the community. Waldorf and Brandywine are growing residential areas in Charles County where public safety remains a top priority for families and businesses.

The successful apprehension helps bring closure to a violent incident that affected local residents. Armed robberies involving multiple suspects and firearms continue to be a focus for law enforcement in the tri-county Southern Maryland region.
