A Lexington Park woman has been charged with assault and reckless endangerment after deputies say she used her vehicle to strike people during a reported fight in the area of Franklin Road and Saratoga Drive.
Shayonna Renee Miles, 24, of Lexington Park, was arrested following the incident on Saturday, May 16, 2026. According to the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a fight with shots fired around 9:09 p.m.
During the investigation, deputies located a 2016 Hyundai Sonata with a flat front passenger-side tire and damage to the hood that appeared consistent with being struck by a projectile. The driver was identified as Miles.
Video surveillance from the area reportedly showed the Hyundai entering Franklin Road, where its occupants became involved in a physical altercation with multiple individuals. After the altercation, the driver attempted to strike people near the intersection of Franklin Road and Louden Lane, according to the sheriff’s office. The vehicle then followed a group into the driveway of a residence and appeared to strike them before backing up and driving into the driveway a second time.
A witness told deputies he was injured after being struck by the Hyundai.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Division took over the case. Based on their investigation, Miles was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Leonardtown, where she remains held.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing. Deputies have not released information about the reported shots fired or whether anyone else was injured during the altercation.
