ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. — Rocksann Smith wrapped up her historic sophomore campaign with the first-ever All-America award for the St. Mary’s College of Maryland women’s outdoor track & field program Saturday at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships, officials said.
Smith (Baltimore, Md./Baltimore City College) placed fourth in the javelin throw for First Team All-America honors at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex.
She secured a spot in this year’s NCAA Championships with her then-school record and personal record of 44.20m notched at the 2026 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the campus of Ursinus College in Collegeville, Pa.
Smith, the program’s inaugural NCAA qualifier, registered a school record and personal-best distance of 44.45m for fourth in the 22-person field, having entered the field seeded sixth with 44.20m.
She concludes her sophomore outdoor campaign as a First Team All-American, a USTFCCCA All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection in javelin throw and 4×100 relay, and as the United East Conference champion in the javelin throw and the 4×100 relay.
