LA PLATA — The College of Southern Maryland softball program placed five players on the All-Region 20 teams, the athletics department announced May 21.

Miranda Twigg and Brooke Colliflower earned first-team selections. Cassie Wolfe and Emily Dove were named to the second team. Carrie Hayden received honorable mention. The five honorees represent more than half of the Hawks’ lineup card.

Twigg was a two-way standout for Coach Keith Sanderson. She led the pitching staff in every major category with 15 wins, 158.1 innings pitched, a 2.83 ERA, 124 strikeouts, 19 complete games and two saves. At the plate she hit .423 with a .453 on-base percentage and .557 slugging percentage.

Colliflower also excelled on both sides of the ball but was more hitting-focused. She paced the team in batting average at .459, on-base percentage at .517 and slugging at .631. She recorded 56 hits, led in runs scored with 40, walks with 14 and doubles with 13, while driving in the most runs. She also pitched more than 50 innings.

Wolfe supplied power in the middle of the order. She hit five home runs — one-third of the team’s season total of 15 — and drove in 35 runs while batting .395.

Dove anchored the defense as the primary catcher. She threw out 10.3 percent of would-be base stealers and posted a perfect fielding percentage. She averaged more than one hit per game at 1.12.

Hayden provided speed on the base paths. She hit five of the team’s nine triples, or 55.6 percent, and stole 28 bases — more than double the next-closest teammate.

The selections cap the 2025-26 season for the Hawks, who finished 22-14 overall and 15-3 in Maryland JUCO play. Seeded third in the Region 20 tournament, CSM advanced past Frederick Community College in the first round before reaching the final four. The team defeated CCBC Catonsville 12-1 but lost to Cecil College 9-3 and to WVU Potomac State 10-6.

The All-Region 20 honors recognize the top performers across the NJCAA Region 20 schools. CSM’s five selections highlight the depth of its lineup and pitching staff during a season that saw the program compete deep into the postseason. No further details on national recognition or future plans were released.

The Hawks compete in the NJCAA. The 2025-26 campaign marked another step in the program’s development under Sanderson.
