LA PLATA — College of Southern Maryland baseball players Mason McReynolds and Lenell Evans earned spots on the 2026 NJCAA Region 20 All-Team.

McReynolds, a sophomore first baseman, received First Team honors. He became just the second player since 2016 to earn back-to-back regional recognition. McReynolds led the Hawks in most offensive categories over 40 games, posting a .422 batting average, .615 on-base percentage and .824 slugging percentage. He drew 49 walks, recorded 43 hits, scored 40 runs, drove in 37 runs, hit 11 doubles and 10 home runs, and stole three bases.

Evans, a freshman, earned Honorable Mention. He led the team with 48 hits and 16 stolen bases while recording the Hawks’ only two triples. Evans ranked second on the team in slugging percentage at .654, runs scored with 31, home runs with nine and doubles with eight.

The selections recognize top performers across NJCAA Region 20, which includes junior college programs from Maryland and surrounding areas. McReynolds’ repeat honor highlights consistent production at the plate, particularly his plate discipline and extra-base power. Evans provided speed and contact hitting as a first-year contributor.

The Hawks compete in NJCAA Division II within Region 20 and the Maryland JUCO conference. Individual honors reflect team offensive output during the 2026 season. McReynolds paced the lineup in walks, runs, RBIs, doubles and home runs. Evans added leadoff production and base-running impact.

College of Southern Maryland serves students from Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s counties. The baseball program offers local athletes an opportunity to compete at the junior college level while pursuing academic goals. Standout seasons by players such as McReynolds and Evans contribute to program visibility within the region.

Region 20 recognition can support players’ transitions to four-year programs. McReynolds’ back-to-back selections place him among a small group of repeat honorees in recent Hawks history. Evans’ freshman-year contributions demonstrate immediate impact at the collegiate level.

The 2026 season featured competitive play across the conference. Individual statistical leadership in key categories helped define the Hawks’ offensive identity.
