LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — Four residents were displaced after a fire damaged a single-family home on Mirfield Lane in Lexington Park early Sunday morning.

The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and Lexington Park Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 23165 block of Mirfield Lane at approximately 6:45 a.m. on June 21, 2026, for a reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived to find flames originating from the front porch of the residence.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes. Around 50 firefighters responded to the single-alarm fire. The home sustained an estimated $100,000 in structural damage, with contents valued at an additional $20,000.

No injuries were reported. The fire was discovered by an occupant of the home. The preliminary cause remains under investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The four displaced residents are receiving assistance from local resources.
