St. Mary’s College of Maryland has once again demonstrated its commitment to academic excellence alongside athletic achievement. The Seahawks claimed 229 spots on the 2025-26 United East Conference Fall and Winter/Spring All-Academic Teams, leading all institutions in the conference for the second consecutive academic year.

To earn selection, a student-athlete must achieve a grade point average of 3.2 or higher for the fall or spring semester while maintaining good standing on their team. The honors recognize the balance of classroom success and athletic participation across United East-sponsored sports.

The conference office released the Fall All-Academic Team in February, honoring 697 student-athletes from 14 full-member institutions and one associate member across six fall sports. St. Mary’s College led the league with 90 honorees. Field hockey topped the Seahawks with a department-high 25 selections. Men’s and women’s soccer each earned 18 spots, while women’s volleyball secured 14. The men’s and women’s cross country teams combined for 15 selections.

The Winter/Spring All-Academic Team, announced June 29, included 1,073 student-athletes from 14 full-member institutions and five associate members across 15 winter and spring sports. St. Mary’s College earned 139 spots, finishing second behind Penn State Harrisburg. Men’s lacrosse led the department with 28 selections, followed closely by baseball with 26. Women’s lacrosse rounded out the top three with 22 honorees. The men’s and women’s outdoor track and field teams combined for 34 selections, while the indoor track and field programs added 33.

These academic honors reflect the strong support systems in place at St. Mary’s College for student-athletes. The Seahawks compete in a variety of sports while pursuing rigorous academic programs, and the high number of honorees underscores the institution’s emphasis on holistic student development.
