DAHLGREN — The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) will conduct range testing Tuesday, July 14 through Thursday, July 16, involving a single aircraft flying over the Potomac River at varying altitudes.
Testing hours will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. each day. Access to the Potomac River Middle Danger Zone will be restricted during operations, extending approximately 30,000 yards down range from NSF Dahlgren to Potomac River Channel Marker Buoy 14. No testing restrictions are listed for Friday, July 17.
The operations are part of routine range activities at the facility. Noise levels both on station and down range are reported as not applicable for these tests.

Boaters and river users are advised to check the schedule in advance to avoid the restricted area. The full NSWCDD range schedule can be previewed by calling the Range and Weapons Testing toll-free hotline at 877-845-5656 or visiting the Potomac River Test Range website.
For additional details, contact the NSWCDD Public Affairs Office at (540) 653-8152.
Local officials encourage awareness of these activities to ensure safety on the water during the mid-week period.
