LA PLATA, Md. — The Charles County Animal Care Center is spotlighting one of its longtime residents, a charming 10-year-old Labradoodle named Bob, who recently received a stylish summer glow-up.
Thanks to the skilled groomers at Iris & Co Grooming Studio and a dedicated volunteer who provided transportation, Bob traded his shaggy coat for a sleek new look. Shelter staff say the makeover has him looking sharp, but his affectionate personality remains unchanged.
“Bob may have traded his shaggy look for a sleek summer style, but he’s still the same 10-year-old Labradoodle who gives legendary Bob Hugs, carries his beloved stuffed frog like it’s priceless treasure, enjoys walks, car rides, tennis balls, and believes every blanket belongs to him by law,” shelter staff shared.

Bob is described as housebroken, good with other dogs, and an ideal couch potato companion with occasional bursts of energy known as “zoomies.” He is looking for a loving forever home where he can continue his favorite activities.
Potential adopters can meet Bob at the Charles County Animal Care Center Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., or on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The center encourages the community to consider adopting older pets like Bob, who often make wonderful, low-maintenance companions once settled into a stable home. Adoptions help free up space for other animals in need and support the center’s mission to promote animal welfare in Charles County.
