Members of The Cannon Club, the private country club in Lothian, will now have preferred access to one of Calvert County’s best-known waterfront destinations.
Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort in Chesapeake Beach and The Cannon Club announced a new partnership this week naming the resort a preferred partner for club members, giving them access to the resort’s accommodations, dining, marina and entertainment offerings along the Chesapeake Bay.
Under the agreement, Cannon Club members will get expanded access to Rod ‘N’ Reel’s overnight accommodations, waterfront dining, marina services, live entertainment and year-round resort amenities, a short drive from the club’s Lothian campus. Both organizations described the deal as an extension of the high-end hospitality each already offers its own members.

The announcement comes as Rod ‘N’ Reel marks its 80th anniversary this year. The family-owned resort recently completed a multi-phase renovation that added new dining concepts and updated its hotel, marina and event spaces, and it has been running its 2026 Rock the Dock concert series on the waterfront through the summer and into fall.
The Cannon Club, established in 1989, offers golf, dining, aquatics, tennis, fitness and social programming at its Lothian property. Officials from both organizations said the new arrangement will bring club members VIP amenities and privileges at Rod ‘N’ Reel while preserving the standards each is known for.
