St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s men’s soccer team scored nine goals before halftime and beat Gallaudet University 10-0 in a United East Conference game Tuesday, Oct. 13, at JLR Stadium.
The 10 goals were a season best for the Seahawks (6-8, 3-2 UEC). Three players scored twice: Zach Blaum, Matthew Kuwik and Tanner Bruce, a Northern High School graduate from Owings. Gallaudet (0-11, 0-5 UEC) did not get a shot off.
The win was a quick rebound from a 2-1 loss at fifth-ranked Salisbury, decided by a goal in the 86th minute. It was the Seahawks’ second lopsided conference win in a week, after a 9-0 win at Wilson.
