St. Mary’s College of Maryland survived one tight set and then ran away from Penn State Brandywine, sweeping the visitors 25-18, 29-27, 25-10 on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the MPOARC Arena to stay unbeaten in United East Conference play.

The Seahawks improved to 14-5 overall and 5-0 in the conference with another straight-sets win, following their sweep of Wilson that pushed them to 4-0 in league play, according to SMCM Athletics.

Serving did much of the damage. St. Mary’s piled up 11 service aces, four each from Stella Marrero and Vlada Costenco and two from Lauren Panageotou.
